Found this on Thingiverse, a smoother rolling filament holder. The purpose of it is to reduce strain on the filament as its entering the extruder. Printing it worked out well. I suggest doing it vertically with trees to reduce the underside of the spool harshness.

You will need to purchase some 608ZZ bearings which are also used in skateboards. I found 10 on amazon for like $6.
Works really well and has significantly less jerky movement than the stock dowel it came with.
